Animation 14 (The Asterisk Within)

"Animation 14 - The Asterisk Within" is a photograph of a trail marker, shot in Baxter State Park, Maine. The trail maintenance worker scraped away lichen and created the asterisk style blaze in hopes that it may last the whole season. To me the marker represents an expression from the worker's unconscious spirit, similar to children's abstract art. The photograph was then printed on canvas and wrapped around 1.25" wooden stretcher bars, like a painting. Canvas makes the piece more realistic and is the best way to bring the beautiful outdoor subject into your home or work space.
