I enjoy weaving and am excited to show off my handwoven tencel scarves.
A native Vermonter, I grew up in the Champlain Islands and have raised my family here in Montpelier, weaving, when I got a chance, primarily for my own enjoyment and personal expression. I’ve been a member of the Vermont Weavers Guild since 1976, and many other fiber related organizations, and am very proud of the awards received for my scarves.
I’m not a “production“ weaver, but I enjoy the creativity at a relaxed pace in my sun porch studio. I’m constantly looking for new color combinations and enjoy seeing those colors come together in pleasing combinations on my loom. Flowers and nature are always inspirational, and then there is Autumn foliage in Vermont . . . . . . and eventually Spring comes again.
Tencel, a wood pulp based fiber, is produced using an environmentally friendly process. I have found my style and rhythm with this new tencel yarn and am enjoying creating one-of-a-kind scarves in a variety of color combinations. Each scarf seems to have an inner glow that develops as the cloth is created, and keeps me excited about the entire process, from color inspiration to finished scarf.
Each scarf is one-of-a-kind. I recommend dry cleaning, and a warm iron if needed.
Scarves are a wonderful way to spark up a wardrobe, and they make lovely gifts too.
